Abstract

This is the third talk in the AG1 series:

Myspace, Flickr, Netflix and all that - Hot sites and trends on the web

--- This week at 16:00 pm !! ---

The (short!) presentations will be very informal and interaction with
the audience is strongly encouraged. Rotunda 3rd floor

----------

netflix challenge (Jochen) - The DVD rental "netflix" has put up a
challenge: Improve their recommendation algorithm and win up to $1
Mio. Irrelevant ads/recommendations are annoying to the user. Relevant
ones are interesting ... and increase your profit.

del.icio.us (Daniel) - everybody's favorite(s). A classic among the social
bookmarking/tagging websites. Store your bookmarks online, access them
from anywhere, share them, discover new ones.

pandora (Ingmar) - The Music Genome Project has evolved/mutated into a pretty
cool web service: A personal radio station just for you! Enter a song
or an artist you like, and it will play similar songs. Interestingly,
this is ok with copyrights.

Presentations will be 5-10 minutes each.
