Abstract

In this talk, I will give an overview of my current research interests: randomized algorithms. I present two current projects.

The first one deals with the theory of randomized search heuristics (RSH) in general and evolutionary computation in particular. I give a motivation why RSH are important and I present results obtained in my first 6 months at MPII.
The second research project covers the question of efficient randomized broadcasting algorithms. Again, I will provide some motivation and give some examples.
