Electron tomography plays essential role in structural studies of macrocells. It estimates 3D structure of a studied specimen from set of 2D images taken at different perspectives with transmission electron microscope. To achieve near-molecular resolution, precise 3D reconstruction technique is necessary. We present an GPU-based implementation of Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (SART) for electron tomography and describe its main features. We also compare this method with other reconstruction techniques and present our results. Finally, we outline directions for possible future research.
