Abstract

This is the twelfth talk in the AG1 series:

Myspace, Flickr, Netflix and all that - Hot sites and trends on the web

http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Cool_Websites (seminar wiki)

The (short!) presentations will be very informal and there's lots of interaction with the audience. Rotunda 3rd floor.

----------

craigslist (Kevin) - Paint a couple of rooms. Get a free flight from the US to Europe. Small ads of all kinds. If a website with such a crappy layout makes it to the top 50, there's gotta be something about it.
http://berlin.craigslist.org/

picasa (Deb) - Picasa is google's photo editing and sharing software, one of the easiest and most convenient to use. It integrates nicely with picasaweb online photo albums, where you can upload photos, very useful for sharing photos with friends after a party or a trip. It is different from flickr.
http://picasa.google.com

sourceforge (Ingmar) - Sourceforge is the world's largest Open Source software development web site, providing free hosting to Open Source software development projects. Another top 100 website.
http://www.sourceforge.net

Presentations will be rougly 5-10 minutes each.

Send an email to iweber@.. if you would like to present something in
this informal setting. If you don't have any idea yourself, you'll be provided with a choice of websites to present.
