Abstract

Current Web technologies allow developers to create rich Web-applications. Unlike

desktop applications Web 2.0 allows developers to create programs by
easily connecting several existing components. This approach, also known as mashup,
allows to use JavaScript to connect web-services and browser components together.

I want to extend this development method by bringing 3D and virtual world components
into the browser. This will allow to create Web-applications similar to Second Life. In
order to do this I will wrap the the open-source Sirikata platform for virtual
worlds into a Web-service component, create XML3D rendering component and combine
them with other browser services to create fully-featured 3D world application right
inside the browser.
