Abstract

Economic and sociological considerations are increasingly
the main determinants of what technology is developed and deployed.
This talk will present a simple pricing scheme for the Internet,
modeled after the Paris Metro, which provides congestion control
while maintaining the simplicity of the Internet architecture.
Other examples of economic influences on technologies such as
micropayments will also be discussed.
