Abstract
I'll talk about some of the interesting papers presented last month at FOCS'05 and about a panel discussion held at the FOCS business meeting on "Exciting the public about (theoretical) computer science".
As I said in my "News from STOC" talk this summer, I think it would enrich the group if anyone who attends a conference returns with a short report about what they saw. New scientific developments are always interesting, but I'd also like to hear about political news (e.g., how to excite the public ...) and about good speakers/researchers who should be invited to the institute.
