Visualization of Way Descriptions on Stationary and Mobile Systems

which deals with the visualization of spatial information for a building
navigation system. This system consists of a stationary information
booth and mobile devices, like the popular Palm Pilot. Graphical
techniques and stylistic methods are used to generate informative
presentations to help the user to navigate in unknown environments. The
form of the presentation depends on technical limitations and cognitive
restrictions of the user. I will analyze what information needs to be
conveyed and how limited resources influence the presentation of this
information. Finally, a framework for this generation process will be
presented.
