Abstract

In this talk I will give a quick overview of the theory of quantum error

correcting codes. My attempt will be to relate it to classical error correction codes. If time permits, I will talk about our recent work on trying to generalise the theory of cyclic codes to the quantum setting. No prior background on quantum physics is assumed or required.
