I'm going to present how to exploit the abundance of tables on the web to understand quantitative data. Web tables comprise more than 150 million table and Wikipedia alone has more than 1.2 million tables. Thus, making since of quantitative data in web tables can serve in many domains such as schema completion, question answering, relation extraction, and data integration/augmentation. I'm going to expose the challenges associated with making sense of web tables; and illustrate how to overcome them to assimilate quantitative data in web tables.
