Abstract

Sometimes one has to solve a linear system over the ring

Z/mZ, which is in general not a field and has zero divisors.
In this talk, I present a method by Howell (1986) for solving
problems of this type, which despite its simplicity seems
not to be very well known.
The presentation will be elementary.
