Abstract

This talk concerns the Propp machine (I'll explain what it is) and related stuff. The big context is `how much randomness do we need' resp. `how can we replace (uniform) randomness by something better'. This leads to generic ways to generate uniformly distributed sequences and superior ways to perform fixed precision arithmetics. Again, a bunch of open problems remains to be solved.
