The analysis of fluid flows is of interest in several engineering fields. In particular, fluid flow can be analyzed by means of vector field topology. In unsteady flows, Lagrangian Coherent Structures separate regions of different behavior. The integration of sample particles can dominate the computational cost of the calculation of these structures. Thus, adaptive sampling methods can be used to increase the overall efficiency of the computation. In this talk we present an approach to adapt a mesh based on the deformation through the flow to sample the domain.
