Abstract

This is the sixth talk in the AG1 series:

Myspace, Flickr, Netflix and all that - Hot sites and trends on the web

http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Cool_Websites (seminar wiki)

The (short!) presentations will be very informal and there's lots of interaction with the audience. Rotunda 3rd floor.

----------

facebook (Kevin) -Facebook was initially a social networking site for the more prestigious US universities, now includes social networks for most US colleges. It has 10 million users and 40,000 different networks. It's the 7th most trafficked site and the largest photo sharing site on the web.
http://facebook.com

jungledisk (Ralitsa) - Amazon has more than books and DVDs to offer. It offers pay-as-you-go CPU power and storage capacity. We will take a closer look at the s3 amazon jungle disk.

****** (Ingmar) - This is arguably the coolest website ever :-) A non-profit social networking site with a twist. And the coolest thing: It does not even exist yet! Come and find out about a hot web project, give feedback ... and help to set it up.

Presentations will rougly 10 minutes each.
