Abstract

Bootstrap percolation was introduced in the late 1970s as a model for certain physical phenomena. We explore this model as a candidate model for the spread of beliefs in social networks. In this talk, we present relevant results in random networks that incorporate some (but unfortunately not all) of the typical characteristics of social networks, as these have been observed through experimental work.

This is joint work with H. Amini (ENS - Paris).
