Abstract

The intensity and gradient constraint in well-known optical flow approaches

such as CLG will be replaced by local rotation-invariant i1D and i2D
phase-vector information. The two-frame dense optical flow will be estimated
by the evaluation of the monogenic curvature tensor which can be regarded as
a new generalization of the well-known analytic signal. The monogenic
curvature tensor can be derived by combining differential geometry and
Clifford analysis and enables local i2D phase evaluation. Using phase
information instead of intensity shows better performance in flow field
estimation under illumination change.
