In this talk, I will present the newly founded Ontologies Group at the
Max Planck Institute for Informatics. The group is concerned with the
RDF Ontologies of the Semantic Web. I will introduce current and
future research, which spans 4 domains: 1. Information Extraction from
text, where we aim to construct an ontology by extracting structured
data from natural language documents. 2. Ontology matching, where we
aim to integrate and consolidate information from multiple ontologies.
3. Context and Provenance, where we aim to represent knowledge about
other knowledge. We also deal with problems of plagiarism by
watermarking techniques. 4. Web Services and reasoning, where we
develop hybrid models of Web Services and static RDF graphs. We also
deal with knowledge mining and schema induction.
