The talk gives an overview on fault-tolerant distributed tick generation algorithms that, instead of running on classical computers, are directly fabricated in hardware. Main challenges are the availability of highly restricted computational devices and the harsh constraints on gate count, interconnect and power of possible solutions.
The talk is the kick-off to a series of weekly group meetings on distributed algorithms on chip. Anyone interested is welcome to join the talks.
