Abstract

Supply chain management (SCM) is a set of approaches utilized to

efficiently integrate suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, and stores,
so that merchandise is produced, distributed at the right quantities,
to the right locations, and at the right time, in order to minimize
costs while satisfying service level requirements.
In order to achieve this, among other approaches, mathematical
optimization is applied (e.g. (mixed integer) linear programming,
constraint programming or genetic algorithms). I will give an overview
on the optimization problems and the algorithms that are used within
the mySAP SCM solution.
Master students who are interested in preparing their master thesis
in the area of supply chain optimization in cooperation with SAP are
very welcome!
