Abstract

Fuzzy logic and possibilistic logic are logics for reasoning under
incomplete and partially inconsistent knowledge. At the syntactic level,
this is expressed by attaching confidence degrees to formulas.
We present possibilistic logic and a weak version of fuzzy logic. In both
cases, resolution-based calculi exist as well as methods to resolve
inconsistencies. The existence of a resolution calculus in both cases
allowed
us to prove that possibilistic logic and the weak version of
fuzzy logic are equivalent, with respect to reasoning.
