Abstract

Stream ciphers are a fast and simple method of privately

exchanging messages between two parties. In the most common
model of stream cipher system, a boolean function is used to
combine the outputs of several independent Linear Feedback
Shift Registers (LFSRs). The security of the overall system
is contingent on several properties of this boolean function.
In this talk we briefly outline these properties and present
design methods for such Boolean functions.
