Abstract
I will introduce some classical recognition and tracking tecniques as well as fields of its application. Then I will proceed with detection / tracking techniques powered by stereo. I will explain the role of Optical Flow in stereo vision and motion detection and concentrate on Variational methods for the real-time optical flow calculation. As the conclusion to my talk, I describe the application of mentioned techniques in robotics.
