Abstract
Evolutionary biology had a long standing problem related with the
origin and maintenance of Sex. Evolutionary computation had employed
sexual reproduction since its origins, back in the 70s, and had
formally defined the usefulness of it. To solve this paradox I propose
that the current Evolutionary Theory, namely Neodarwinism, has to be
revised to merge sex into it as a fundamental exploratory mechanism
that is not a consecuense but that lies in the roots of the process of
evolution.
