Abstract

Not only object detection and tracking but also human recognization and pose estimation have been important issues traditionally in the field of computer vision and video analysis because they enable a image processing system to understand camera scenes intelligently. Generally, these functions require special hardware to cope with high computational complexity. In this presentation, robust object detection and tracking algorithms in compressed videos, which are reliably performed in real-time without any help of special hardwares, are introduced as the subject of my Master's thesis. In addition, the state-of-the-art techniques for human detection and pose estimation are described with their comparative analysis, and a basic human pose estimation system, which I am currently implementing, is introduced.
