In the talk, we start with a very brief summary of my recent work on bioinformatics methods that support (i) the integration and visualization of existing knowledge, (ii) the analysis of gene regulatory networks in the context of gene expression data, (iii) transcription factor binding motif discovery, and (iv) large-scale remote homology detections. Subsequently, we briefly discuss how these tools may be combined to provide novel promising wet lab targets and to perform reliable inter-species transfers of gene regulatory networks. Finally, I outline my future research perspectives.
