The accelerating advance of digital transformation in the workplace is having profoundly
disruptive impacts on employment, especially with respect of lower skilled jobs. Professor
Elliott examines the diversity of region-specific challenges and opportunities
stemming from digital transformation across the EU; advanced robotics and the transformation
of enterprises, employment and work; AI technologies and the redefinition of
digital skills; and, policy and other strategic options aimed at the facilitation and socially
inclusive management of these profound technological transitions. The relevance of
European approaches for non-EU countries, such as Australia, will be a key theme.
