
The Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik (MPII) (http://www.mpi-sb.de/) is the premier German research institute devoted to basic research in Computer Science and Information Technology. Currently, one directorial position at MPII is vacant. The position is comparable to a full professorship at universities and is provided with adequate resources for research. The research program of the institute currently concentrates on Algorithms and Complexity, Programming Logics, Reactive and Hybrid Systems and Computer Graphics.
The institute is interested in strengthening these fields as well as in complementing the ongoing research by adding innovative areas. There are no formal teaching obligations, although the institute participates in various teaching and graduate programs at the Universität des Saarlandes. Scientists with international recognition, who are interested in this position and in conducting an innovative research program in an interactive and stimulating international environment are encouraged to write to:
