Abstract

This is the fifth talk in the AG1 series:

Myspace, Flickr, Netflix and all that - Hot sites and trends on the web

http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Cool_Websites (seminar wiki)

--- This week again at 4:00 pm ---

The (short!) presentations will be very informal and there's lots of interaction with the audience. Rotunda 3rd floor.

----------

archive (Michael) - What did the Google interface look like in '98? What did my homepage look like a year ago? Wouldn't it be nice to have an archive for the internet? Well, it already exists! http://archive.org/

alexa (Jochen) - Alexa Internet (a subsidiary company of Amazon.com) is best known for providing information on the web traffic to other websites. Alexa collects information from users who have installed an Alexa Toolbar. http://alexa.com/

clusty (Ingmar) - Did you mean 'Jaguar, the car' or 'Jaguar, the cat'? Clusty provides a similar feature by clustering the results of your web search into related groups. MSN is copying their approach so there must be something to it. http://clusty.com/

Presentations will rougly 10 minutes each.

Send an email to iweber@.. if you would like to present something in
this informal setting.
