Abstract

This is the seventh talk in the AG1 series:

Myspace, Flickr, Netflix and all that - Hot sites and trends on the web

http://www.mpi-sb.mpg.de/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Cool_Websites (seminar wiki)

The (short!) presentations will be very informal and there's lots of interaction with the audience. Rotunda 3rd floor.

----------

singingfish (Ingmar) - Downloading mp3s for free on the web is illegal? Such sites get shut down immediately? Well, if you're looking for fairly mainstream stuff, try this site. Operated by AOL!
http://www.singingfish.com

eyeos (Evangelia) - This site gives you a 'virtual os'. Think of some simple operating system running on a remote server ... and you can access it with a web interface! Access your documents from anywhere and with any machine.

virtual earth 3d (Christoph) - Microsoft scores against Google in the earth browser war: textured 3D models provide an almost photo-realistic impression of entire cities, a single interface unifies route planning with 3D exploration, and virtual poster walls are a new advertising concept for earth browsers.

Presentations will rougly 10 minutes each.
