Semantic search is an umbrella term for all kinds of information retrieval involving a non-trivial human-like "understanding" of the query and possibly the data. I will talk about the history of semantic search, the current state on the art on search engines like Google and the technology behind it, and what we can likely expect in the near and not-so-near future. I will show a number of demos and highlight some recent results from our own research on the topic. |
