Abstract

Networked systems are central to many activities in modern societies, and wireless networking has been expanding fast the reach of information. In this emerging new landscape, security and privacy need to be systematically reconsidered. In fact, they are more important than ever before. Otherwise, our future ubiquitous information infrastructure would open the door to a formidable set of abuses.

In this talk, I will discuss how to secure wireless networked systems; which not only proliferate but also pose new challenges. I will present results from a number of past and ongoing projects, including those on secure neighbor discovery in wireless networks, secure and fault-tolerant communication in mobile ad hoc networks, and security for vehicular communication systems.
