The italian painter Archimboldo is famous for creating imaginative portrait heads made entirely out of fruits, vegetables and flowers. The source of inspiration for the thesis is the portrait of the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II who appears in a painting as , the god of seasons from the Roman mythology, Vertumnus who was also the patron of gardens, fruit trees and plant growth.
Starting with a digital image consisting of a frontal portrait head we would like to modify it in a Vertumnus-like portrait, that is, matching fruits and vegetables with the most similar area segments of the face image to create the desired effect.
